Abstract

Adab al-Tijarah (Trade Etiquette) in Islamic jurisprudence comprises a set of ethical guidelines and principles that emphasize honesty, fairness, transparency, and trust-building. In the modern world, many successful global companies also employ similar ethical codes, particularly in branding and maintaining customer trust. The fundamental distinction lies in that Islamic teachings present these principles with the aim of divine proximity (qurb ilahi), while liberal systems view them as instruments for profit realization. Furthermore, these ethical principles play a crucial role in the formation and implementation of legal rules. This article examines these principles within fourteen key dimensions, including leniency in transactions, good faith, security and trust, right to quality, and social responsibility. The main objective of this research is to conduct a comparative analysis of these principles in Islamic jurisprudence and modern ethical models to demonstrate how they can contribute to sustainable trade and healthy competition. The research conclusion emphasizes the importance of implementing a comprehensive ethical code for companies' long-term success and provides recommendations for applying these principles in business strategies.
